Now an electric car is not a hybrid car; hybrid cars are different than electric cars. Hybrid cars still have a gasoline engine and emissions. An electric car does not have a gasoline engine neither does it have any emissions. With no emissions electric cars could be the earths answer to fixing global warming, well not yet. To make electric cars a good answer the world would have to switch to power plants that do not have any emissions at all. Mainly because burning coal is the largestĀ supplierĀ in energy in the world, and also the largest contributer to greenhouse gasses in the world. For instance in the United States coal is the leading producer of electricity. So if the United States would switch to electric cars right now they would use up more electricity. Therefore increasing the amount of coal United States would need to burn which would release more greenhouse gases. So electric cars cannot be the answer to curing global warming, yet. Electric cars cannot be the worlds answer until the whole world switches to emission free power plants. And there are other problems with electric cars, like getting something that can store enough electricity to power that car for as long as a car today lasts with one tank of gas.
So what’s the possibility of converting or switching every car on the road right now into an eco-friendly electric car?

Well in my post I say that electric cars are not good unless we were to switch all of the worlds power plants to emissions free. I stated that emissions from coal burning would increase with electric cars, because they would use more electricity. My favorite choice for the car that will cure our emissions problem are hydrogen cars. I will write about those in my next blog post. Thanks for the comment!
