Finally on G4TV they announced Killzone 2’s official release date. The game is now set to release on February 27th, 2009. I know thats a horrendous 3 months from now but I am very sure that it will be worth the torturing wait. There were two new weapons previewed and demonstrated, demonstrated Warzone online game mode, walkthrough of online classes, and he talked about Clan games. The two new weapons that were introduced, The Bolt Gun, that shoots a bolt into someone that then explodes. The amazing thing is that when you hit someone with the Bolt gun it launches the person backwards into the air pining them against a nearby wall (if there is a wall close enough. The physics in this game really look to be amazing. Then they demonstrated the flame thrower, which looks amazing. From the first 2005 trailer that was released people were skeptical as to whether the effects of that video were truly possible. But the developers at Guerrilla really out-did themselves achieving what was thought of as impossible making the effects of the flame look so realistic (check it out in the videos below). The New online game mode, Warzone, also looks like it will be uniquely fun, incorporating every other game mode into one. Probably the coolest thing he mentioned was the honor system in clan games, which each clan will have a curtain amount of honor. At a clan war the winner takes all the losing clans honor points.
